“Winning with Wisdom!”

The great women at the Bethel Church have begun an eight-week Bible study. This anointed Bible study is led by my beautiful wife, Dr. Gloria Price Holmes. The women are studying each Sunday morning at 9:30AM from a powerful study by Priscilla Shirer entitled “He Speaks to Me: Preparing to Hear from God.” This study is timely; we need to hear God’s voice and we need God’s wisdom.
This week, Priscilla did a study in reference to “spiritual wisdom.” This study is blessing my soul. We can win with God’s wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 reads “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” When we don’t operate in wisdom, we will end up, sooner or later, in the wilderness of pain and perplexity. To “fear the Lord” means to respect and reverence the Lord.
God’s wisdom guides us in a place where we can defeat a sense of failure, low self-esteem and avoid the pitfalls of life. Wisdom is discernment, understanding, insight, and common sense. Sister Priscilla said “In our quest to hear God’s voice, we cannot gain spiritual insight or wisdom if we begin in the wrong place. Our desire to hear from God must begin with reverence. Respecting God is not only the essence of wisdom, it is also the prerequisite for it.”
Winning with wisdom will empower us to become overcomers and not overwhelmed. My friends, we need winning wisdom right now. The apostle James leads us to the giver of wisdom. It is recorded in James 1:5 – “If any of you lack wisdom, let him or her ask of God, that giveth to all people liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given you.” I want the “Winning Wisdom!”
