Bethel’s 2015 Retirees Recognized at Annual Retiree Luncheon

The Annual Retiree Luncheon of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church was held Tuesday, Nov. 10, as the culminating event for Bethel’s 145th Church Anniversary and the Pastor, Dr. R.B. Holmes’ 29th Anniversary celebration.
This year, five very thankful members were recognized for their 186 collective years of professional service to the community. The following persons were this year’s honorees:
•Dr. Michael M. Campbell, Professor, School of Business, 25 Years, Florida A&M University
•Willa M. Dennard, Senior Revenue Consultant, 34 Years, Florida Department of Revenue
•Ray Mobley, Ph.D. Administrator & Extension Veterinarian, 15 Years, Florida A&M University, Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Biological Administrator, 4 Years, United States Military—Army – 21 Years
•Wayne L. Pye, Government Operations Coordinator, II, 30 Years. Florida Department of Corrections, Gadsden and Leon County Schools, Teacher – 12 Years Coaching—Football & Basketball – 10 Years
•Altemese Smith, State government for 35 years, retiring as Bureau Chief, Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, 35 Years
Coach Leonard T. Hamilton, Head Basketball Coach at Florida State University was the keynote speaker. Coach Hamilton shared vignettes from his childhood and gave testimony to God’s direction for his life.
Dr. Holmes thanked the retirees for their great service to Bethel and the community. He congratulated them and their families as they enter the most exciting phase of their lives. Additionally, Pastor Holmes gave special recognition to Bethel’s senior deacons and deaconesses for their service and faithfulness.
A delectable meal was served to the guests by members of the Retirement Ministry..
