Sixth In A Series: The Divine Knowledge and Reverence for the Real Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life
By Bro. Terry Alex
“Jesus said unto him, I am the way the truth, and life: No man cometh unto the father, but by me.” John 14:6
Truth is a fundamental and moral personal quality of God. God proclaimed that he is merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. –Exodus 34:6
Proposition: The Truth is an Ultimate Foundation
John 4:24 –Every Christian must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
John 1:17 –For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus.
God’s revelation (Truth) now comes through a person’s life. As we get to know Christ better, our understanding of God will increase.
Jesus says that He is the only way to God the Father. Some people may argue that this is too narrow; in reality, it is wide enough for the whole world, if the world chooses to accept it instead of worrying about how limited it sounds to only have one way. We should be saying thank God for providing a sure way to get to you. As the truth, He is the reality of all God promises. As the life, He joins His divine life to ours, both now and eternally.
Jesus is the way because He is both God and man. By uniting our lives with His, we are united with God. Trust Jesus to take you to the Father
Jesus has power over life and death, as well as, power to forgive sins. This is because He is the creator of life.
He who has life can surely restore life. Whoever believes in Him has a spiritual life that death cannot touch or diminish in any way. When we realize His power and how wonderful His offer to us really is, how can we not commit our lives to Him? To those of us who believe we have that wonderful assurance.
Jesus chooses this way because there was no other way that man could be saved. Some of us are still denying the way, we try to make other ways but there is only one way.
Matthew 7:14 said, “straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leaded unto life, and few there find it.” It is left up to us to find God’s way and walk therein. We should want to be saved, because there is nothing here but death, hell, and destruction; and I know that we won’t want to be caught up in sin.
So in my closing, I’ll say to you, if you as a Christian are out of the way, you need to make haste and get in.
Zacchaeus was short in stature. If he had not gotten in the way, he would have missed Jesus. There is no other way. Every Christian must go this way. Trust Jesus to take you to the Father, and all the benefits of being God’s Child will be yours.
May God Bless you, May God keep you. Amen.
