Women’s relay team paces FAMU top finishers at Tech meet

ATLANTA — Some leaped their farthest, while others ran their fastest.
The Florida A&M track and field team wrapped action at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday with several personal records and an event win in the women’s 4×100 relay.
The quartet of Shaniya Berry, Zoe Hightower, Lauryn Hall, and Teleda Williams joined forces for the Rattlers’ fastest 4×100-meter finish of the season. The performance set the time to beat at 45.43 and was one of two podium finishes on the day.
Williams notched the other, placing third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.43 seconds. Four others FAMU runners also recorded a new personal best times.
Forrest Booker and Peter Sailsman also left George C. Griffin Track with collegiate best times. Booker narrowly missed finishing in the top three in the triple jump, clearing 14.63-meter. Sailsman finished fifth in the high jump with a distance of 1.96 meters.
This weekend the Rattlers will compete in the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville to wrap up the regular season. The following week they will compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

High Jump — Peter Sailsman, 1.96 meter (6 feet, 5 inches), T5/10.
Triple Jump — Forrest Booker , 14.63 meters (48 four feet even, 4, 13; Mia Heard, 11.44 meters (37 feet, 6 ½ inches, 9/12.
4×100 — Shaniya Berry, Zoe Hightower, Lauryn Hall, Teleda Williams, 45.43, 1/13.
400m Hurdles — Jaydon Sanford, 55.56, 21/36
400- meter — Teleda Williams, 54.43, 3/53; William Shelton, 47.93, 9/58; Samuel Gardner, 48.06, 11/58; Brandon Love, 48.10, 12/58; Destini Pickens, 56.74, 15/53; Zoe Hightower, 57.49, 22/53; Eyana Dixon, 57.93, 26/53.
