TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The final day of the Crimson Tide Invite was a remarkable one for three members of the Florida State outdoor track and field team.

Suus Altorf, Tyra Wilson and Tyson Williams turned in program all-time top 10 performances at the meet last Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Altorf placed third in the women’s 1,500-meter run, clocking a lifetime best at 4:13.09, which is the seventh-fastest time in FSU history. Wilson won the women’s 400 hurdles, running her best time at 57.03. Her performance ranks seventh in program history.

Williams earned a spot in postseason action in the men’s 110 hurdles, placing second with the eighth-fastest time in FSU history at 13.66.

“Tremendous effort by the women and men today,” said associate head coach Matt Kane. “We had some top 10 all-time marks and top 10 NCAA marks, which is exciting. They came prepared to compete today and that showed with a lot of wins as well. Several people to highlight were Suus, Tyra, Dajaz (DeFrand) and one close to my heart with a huge personal best and regional mark was Tyson Williams.”

The Seminoles secured five event wins, including Wilson.

The men’s 4×100 relay team stole the show by turning in the third-fastest time in the nation at 39.06 behind Keshaun Black, Ismael Kone, Neo Moesbi and Tyler Azcano for the win.

“Today as a whole I felt like it was a productive day,” associate men’s head coach Rick Argo said. “The hurdle crew ran well today, but the highlight for the day was the 4×100. The goal was always to execute getting the baton around the track. We accomplished that and now we can clean up some technicalities in our execution to be better next week.”

Mosebi took home his second win of the season in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.36. Kone followed in ninth at 10.57, adding NCAA and ACC Championship qualifying marks. Guinove Joanus (10.65) and Azcano (10.72) rounded out the event for the Noles, also punching their tickets to postseason action.

Joanus added a 12th-place finish in the 200 meter, clocking 21.20 and Jaden Francis placed fifth in the 800 at 2:10.74.

Andre Korbmacher followed Williams in the 110 hurdles, finishing third at 13.72.

Shenese Walker won the women’s 200, establishing a career best and postseason time of 23.20. Kaniya Johnson followed in second with a lifetime best and ACC standard time of 23.62.

Alexandra Webster won the women’s 100 hurdle, establishing a season best of 13.36. Dajaz DeFrand won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.14. Liana Tyson followed in third with a career best of 11.53.

Skyler Reynolds competed in the long jump, placing third with a mark of 5.85 meters. Adina Jackson followed in ninth at 5.67 meters.

Ava Klein joined Wilson in the 400 hurdles field, placing fifth with a time of 59.98.

The 4×100 relay team placed second behind Liana Tyson, Dajaz DeFrand, Johnson, and Walker.

“All in all, we accomplished a few things we set out to do,” Argo said. “We now prepare for the Tom Jones Invitational with the goal of continued progress.”

The Seminoles will compete at the Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville on Friday and Saturday.
