Commendations and congratulations rang throughout Florida State University Center Club on March 7 as seven young men of the Big Bend were presented at the Fifth Annual Links Beautillion Formal Presentation.

The event is held each year to honor and present young men to the local community after they have been prepared for manhood and success through participation in a curriculum-based program over the course of six weeks. The men were joined by their families, loved ones and individuals of their support systems as they donned top hats and tails during the black-tie event.

There was much said and long remembered as the achievements of the young men were told spanning throughout the areas of academics, leadership, community service, church involvement, the arts and sports.

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum said, “I salute the young men demonstrating qualities that are ideal.” He challenged each of them to continue building a better future for this community and this nation.
