The Christian Response to the Coronavirus

“I Will Do It!”

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer, the privilege of prayer, and the promise of prayer. God has an impressive history of answering our prayers. Jesus said in St. John 14: 13-14, “And whatever he shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the father may be glorified, if he shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” The person, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, is promising us that if we pray by faith, asking Him in His name, He will answer. I am praying to Jesus to strengthen my prayer life.

We have the power in prayer to rebuke this deadly coronavirus and all other viruses. Believers in the Risen Christ, let us pray much more; let us pray and see what God will do. Let me encourage you to not panic, but pray. Pray for the president, the governors, the mayors of your cities, elected officials; please, pray for your pastors. I still believe that “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16) There is something very inspirational about prayer: Prayer Never Dies.

Jesus is calling us to pray in faith, to pray in the spirit and to pray in His name; Jesus will answer us. Jesus says “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13) Make sure now, that “whatsoever” you are asking for, it has to be done so that “The Father may be glorified.” Praying for healing? Father, please get the glory! Praying for a prodigal son or daughter to get right? Father, you get the glory! Praying for mental stability, financial security, marital bliss, a relationship, humility, more peace? Lord it is for your glory! Jesus said “I will do it.” Praise the Lord! Amen!
