The Christian Response to the Coronavirus

As we go through these uncertain times, it is significantly important that we seek to hear the voice of the Risen Christ.

Even in this coronavirus crisis, Christ Jesus is in control. The enemy wants us to have a troubled heart. Listen to what Jesus said to his disciples in St John 14:1: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” Jesus was on His way to die for the “Sin Virus.” This sin had infected the whole world (John 3:16) because Jesus loved us so much. By the way, He loved us unconditionally; He died for our sins.

The disciples were extremely distraught, disturbed, distressed and distracted. Can’t you sense their hurt and heartaches? “Jesus is going to leave us; Jesus is going to die; Jesus is our only hope; and Jesus must not do this.” My friends, Jesus promised them “another comforter” (John 14:16, 18).
Some of us have a troubled heart because of the impact of this virus; some of our hearts are broken, bitter, beaten, bruised and bothered.

The good news is that Jesus has come to heal the broken-hearted. Jesus wants you to believe in Him, honor Him, trust Him, walk with Him, and depend on His living word. Listen confidently to his word: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” Praise God! Do you still believe in God?
