CDA of Tallahassee Leon County recognized as industry leader at summit
Special to the Outlook
The Consolidated Dispatch Agency was recently recognized for accomplishments in several areas and as an industry leader at the annual Motorola Solutions Summit.
CDA Director David Odom, Behavioral Health Wellness Coordinator Kim Powell, Lt. Mike Abbey (ret.), Public Safety Communications Operator (PSCO) Teagan Clayton and other CDA members attended the summit in Orlando.
More than 1,100 public safety professionals from across North America attended the summit. Attendees had the option of participating in nearly 450 hours of high-quality training courses across 21 tracks.
CDA’s innovative Behavioral Wellness and Peer-to-Peer Support Program, presented by Kim Powell and Mike Abbey, was a headlining leadership track. Teagan Clayton was recognized by Motorola for her vital role during the October 29, 2022 mass casualty and officer-shooting incident on Pensacola Street. Clayton, who was selected from hundreds of nominations, was commended for exceptional service monitoring, and coordinating police and emergency services during a critical incident.
Clayton has been employed with the CDA since last May.
“We are incredibly proud of PSCO Clayton who is an asset to the First Responder Family of Tallahassee Leon County,” said Odom. “She is also a testament to the strength of our ever-intensifying training program and the resilience of our Wellness Program. The CDA will continue to lead within our industry to be innovative in our approach to provide the highest level of service to our community.”
