Second In A Series: The Divine Knowledge and Reverence for the Real Jesus: The Incarnation

In John Chapter 1, it teaches us that: In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. This is important as we look at incarnation.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life and that life was the light of men. The light shines in darkness but the darkness has not understood it. He was in the world and though the world was made through him the world did not recognize him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” This we know to be Jesus. He was with God and he is in the God head, God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This establishes that he is fully divine.
This is the magnificent account of our Salvation. The simple version to me is that God created man – Adam. Adam – we sinned and caused a broken relationship with God. God in his love for us gave us another way to return to him. He gave us a second Adam, who restored our relationship with the father. But God could not fix the relationship by sending just anyone, he needed someone that would be fully divine and fully human who could relate to our humanness in all its stages, but yet remain sinless.
So God sent his son, born of a virgin, (Luke 1:30) states: Don’t be afraid Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. Even Elizabeth will have a child in her old age for nothing is impossible with God. Divinity and humanity comes together in Jesus: Fully human, fully God.
This is at the core of our belief as Christians that through faith we take on the Life of Christ. We want to live our lives to be imitators of Christ – Christ in us. He deserves our total reverence, which to me is more than our respect. God thru Christ Jesus has called us to action for him, to work for the good of each one of us, for his glory. We have been set apart for a purpose.
We take comfort that we do have a High Priest that can understand our every situation and can represent us to the father.
We must have a personal response to this good news that Jesus has saved us from our sins and is even now interceding on our behalf. We are called to be children of light and to be his ambassador and his agents by loving him and loving each other.
How do we honor and pay due reverence to the Christ Incarnate? This we do by putting our trust in Jesus and increasing our faith walk day by day. We pray to Him for everything. We develop and practice an attitude of thanksgiving.
