Scouts recognize Beasley with Silver Beaver Award
Special to the Outlook
Stephen Beasley, an advocate for scouting for several decades, was recently recognized for his service with the Silver Beaver Award. The distinction is the high among the hundreds of awards presented annually to volunteers by a local council.
As a movement whose leadership is made up primarily of volunteers, the Boy Scouts of America recognizes the need to acknowledge those individuals who truly go above and beyond to guarantee the availability of a quality Scouting program. Beasley is a former Scout from the Suwannee River Area Council, who continues to be a staunch supporter and advocate for the scouting program in Tallahassee and Leon County.
A paragon of what a scouter should be, Beasley’s hard work and dedication has enabled scouting to grow in areas where it is needed the most. Beasley has also helped form new relationships that will further expand the footprint of the scouting movement.
