Rattlers secure playoff berth

Coach Willie Simmons was at center stage following FAMU’s 46-21 victory in the Florida Classic. The victory over Bethune-Cookman University convinced the NCAA selection committee to give FAMU an at-large berth into the FCS playoffs, its first since 2001. The only loss for the Rattlers (9-2) on the FCS level was by one point early in the season. FAMU’s win last weekend at Camping World Stadium capped an eight-game winning streak that included the Rattlers’ first victory over B-CU in nine years.
