Special to the Outlook

Nicole Everett is a Miami native and a graduate of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, with undergraduate degrees in both Business Administration and Business Economics. For 20 years of her professional life, she has been focused on affordable housing policies and programs. As Assistant Director of the Tallahassee Lenders Consortium, she was devoted to helping low and moderate income residents qualify for affordable home ownership through budget and credit counseling, new home buyer workshops, and work with financial agencies for down payment assistance. As a result, many Tallahassee residents who previously thought it was impossible are homeowners today. She is currently a Special Program Manager at the Florida Housing Finance Corporation where she oversees the Florida Foreclosure Counseling Program for potential and current homeowners statewide.

She has devoted countless hours to volunteer work with organizations that include Big Bend Habitat for Humanity, the Providence Neighborhood Association Redevelopment Corporation, and the City of Tallahassee Code Enforcement Board. She is also working to create a major philanthropy dedicated to funding the arts, housing, and children’s initiatives. For now, however, she has invested heart and soul in a project for which she is very passionate and allows her to bring attention to important quality of life issues.

On March 2, 2016, she launched a weekly video blog called “Conversations with Nicole”, produced by Gerald Tookes, at Nefetari’s Fine Cuisine and Spirits in Tallahassee’s Southside. The first season contained 24 episodes and ran from March until August 2016, highlighting people and important events in Tallahassee. On October 13, 2016, Nicole began her second season by expanding to a television audience. Season 2 included 10 shows on the local FOX television affiliate focused on education, entertainment, and health. In season 3, the episodes covered the importance of father role models and fathers in the home, women in prison, community gardens, and financial empowerment.
Season 4 of “Conversations with Nicole” has begun and airs on the local FOX station every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. The focus of this season of CWN is promoting total wellness, and innovative solutions for societal problems in our community, with very knowledgeable guests. All episodes of the show are available on the CWN Facebook page and YouTube Channel. She has effectively used her knowledge, skills, and creativity to educate, inform, and advance causes that improve the quality of life in Tallahassee/ Leon County. Here’s someone to watch. She’s a young woman who is really on the move.
