MLK Foundation of Florida names Ingram Person of the Year

Tallahassee businessman Spencer Ingram was recently named Person of the Year by the MLK Foundation of Florida. 

The Foundation cited Ingram for exemplary service in business, his community involvement and an outstanding family man.  The award was presented on Dec. 3 by Stephen Beasley, co-founder and CEO of the Foundation.

Ingram is a Certified Public Accountant and has managed his Tallahassee-based accounting firm since 1996, providing a full complement of tax and business services to clients ranging from individuals to small businesses to religious and non-profit organizations.

Ingram’s community footprint is long and wide. A member of Leadership Tallahassee Class XXIV, Ingram served on the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce board of directors and chaired the Small Business Advocacy Committee. He served for 23 years on the United Way of the Big Bend’s finance committee and 10 years on the Council on Cultural Arts board of directors (two terms as chair).  

Ingram also was host of the weekly talk show, “Business Insight,” on WTAL 1450 AM for 13 years.  Other prior involvements include the Capital City Chamber of Commerce (board of directors); Leon County Contractors’ Licensing and Examination Board (member); Premier Bank (community board); the John Gilmore Riley Center & Museum for African American History & Culture, Inc. (advisor); Frenchtown Outreach Center (advisor). 

Ingram currently serves on the First Commerce Credit Union’s audit committee and the TEMPO Foundation board of directors.
