“Miracle Hills: Help From On High”

The Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Tallahassee,Fla., Rev. R.B. Holmes, Pastor, designated Sunday, Aug. 30, as “Miracle Hill Appreciation Sunday” during the 7:30 a.m. worship service.

 
The worshippers were blessed with high praise from the dynamic Bethel Men’s Choir under the direction of Brother Anthony Poole. Pastor Holmes preached an inspiring message from the theme: “Miracle Hills: Help From On High,” scripturally rooted in Psalm 121:1-8:
“1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

 
Holmes uniquely connected the words from the psalmist to the mission and goals of Tallahassee’s Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with three insightful thoughts: 1 – The source of our help. 2 – The strength of our help. 3 – The scope of our help.

 
The sermonic proclamation by Holmes was most uplifting and provided hope and encouragement, not only to the staff from Miracle Hill, but to the entire congregation in attendance.

 
Following the message, Pastor Holmes gave commendations to the Miracle Hill staff for their commitment and dedication in providing loving care to those requiring long term medical support, as well as to those persons requiring intensive rehabilitative therapy. Holmes commended Tommy Daymond, the interim administrator, for his leadership and vision in garnering community support for Miracle Hill.

 
Elder Franklin Rush, pastor of the New Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Tallahassee, Fla., and President of the Florida Primitive Baptist State Convention, was elated to be a part of the service. The Primitive Baptist State Convention is the owner and operator of Miracle Hill.

 
“Dr. Holmes, you are to be commended for your leadership in supporting Miracle Hill. We are extremely grateful,” said Elder Rush. Dr. Holmes presented Elder Rush with the first installment of a generous donation from Bethel Missionary Baptist Church to Miracle Hill. Members of the staff and volunteers were also presented with certificates of appreciation from Bethel.

Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was founded in 1968. The facility is a 120 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitative facility with about 150 employees.
