Marvin Davies Inducted into Civil Rights Hall of Fame

The family of Marvin Davies, Founder of The MLK Foundation of Florida, with the foundation’s CEO Stephen K. Beasley, at the recently held Induction Ceremonies at the University Center in Tallahassee. Davies was a pioneer in Civil Rights serving as the Executive Director of the Florida State Conference of the NAACP. In 2003, the Florida Legislature named the Florida Civil Rights Act the “Dr. Marvin Davies Civil Rights Act” and authorized the Attorney General to commence a civil action for damages, relief and penalties for repeated discriminatory practices.
