For one night only MLG Productions and Dove Productions will debut “Me Against The World.” Nov. 14 at Lee Hall Auditorium on Florida A&M University (FAMU) campus.
“Me Against The World”,  is an original stage play full of suspense and drama about  how people can triumph over life’s toughest obstacles once being enlightened about who or what forces has  truly been working against them.

The play centers around Tasha, who, is convinced her husband is cheating with a younger, perkier woman who is in her 20s. Tasha weighs heavily on spiritual relations and signs, which can sometimes blind her from the truth. She receives wisdom from well-qualified counsel, but it’s not enough to change the mind of Tasha, who is 99 percent certain of her husband’s infidelity. Although love conquers all, after accusing and ridiculing him, will her husband have enough left to forgive and take her back?

The play was written by Pastor Quincy D. Griffin, Sr, who is the pastor of Family Worship & Praise Center in Tallahassee, FL. Griffin served as the band director for Rickards High School for 10 years and is a former member of FAMU’s Marching 100.

“It’s an honor for God to use our ministry to reach beyond the four walls of a building — with a message to change lives in our city and beyond. This play is written for people who need help and change, but sometimes fail to see it and where to seek it. Every actor was chosen to represent, relate to and draw someone in from our society to make a connection that we hope will positively affect lives,” said playwright Quincy D. Griffin, Sr.

The play’s director, Markiesha Gorden, is a FAMU Essential Theatre graduate and was featured in the September/October issue of Tallahassee Women’s Magazine. Gorden is thrilled to be a part of this production and encourages everyone in the city to attend.

“This has been a process that’s surely worth the reward. The purpose is somuch bigger than me.  Ontop of it all, it’s a sincere pleasure to do what I love while making a difference. ‘Me Against the World’ is a must see for all,”  said Gorden

Doors will open at 6 p.m. followed by a pre-concert showcase at 6:30 p.m. The play will begin at 7 p.m.  Tickets prices range from $18-$25, based on desired  seating preferences.
