Florida Gov. Rick Scott reappoints Patricia Smith to the Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council

Earlier this month, Governor Rick Scott announced the reappointment of Patricia Smith to the Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council.
“I am pleased that Pat Smith, was reappointed. She will represent the Council well and contribute much to the good of the community,” said Zack Gibson, Chief Child Advocate for the Governor’s Office of Adoption and Child Protection.

 
Smith currently serves as the Community Relations Director for the Florida Department of Children and Families. In that capacity, she is responsible for statewide community outreach efforts to enhance the Department’s partnerships with grassroots organizations and its leaders. Smith also served as the immediate past Chair of the Council. She is reappointed for a term beginning August 1, 2017, and ending July 18, 2020.

 
The Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council serves as a formal board of the Executive Office of the Governor and to the Legislature. The Council is comprised of 25 members from throughout Florida. Our goal is to enlist, equip, enable, empower and expand the work of faith-based, volunteer and community-based organizations to work cooperatively with government entities in order to deliver services more effectively.
