Special to the Outlook

For Dillyn Suggs, the magical moment of being named the 2023 Miss Debutante is still seared into her memory.

The Leon County Chapter of The Charmettes, Incorporated, hosted its annual Debutante Presentation and Ball earlier this year. Suggs, along with nine other Debutantes, experienced a cherished tradition that’s been the Chapter’s signature event for more than 50 years.

The prestigious program has given more than $800,000 in scholarships. More than 500 impressive, young women over the years – an event past Debutantes continue to talk about after having experienced it firsthand.

As the Chapter begins planning for its next Presentation and Ball, Suggs shares her thoughts about the signature event.
