FAMU athletics department announced a new partnership with Peak Sports MGMT to oversee multimedia rights and enhance the Florida A&M Athletics marketing brand. The agreement was announced last Friday.

“We are excited about this partnership opportunity with Peak Sports that will generate substantial revenue through a highly credible and talented sales force,” said FAMU Director of Athletics Kortne Gosha. “Peak Sports has a proven track record of success in developing relationships between athletics programs and the corporate communities in which they serve.  Peak Sports’ ability to initiate and grow those relationships will enhance our efforts, benefit our programs and ultimately allow us to meet our financial goals as outlined in our strategic initiatives.”

“As we continue to build out our external unit, partnering with Peak was a natural fit for us. We understand that the Tallahassee community wants to support Florida A&M and we need a way to engage and provide an opportunity for partnership that would be rooted in customer service,” said Director of Athletics & Chief of Staff Keith McCluney. “Peak will play an integral role in the delivery of athletics assets and inventory. Peak will serve as our source for securing corporate sponsorships and engaging local business and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to our team and to the Highest of Seven Hills.”

Peak Sports will manage and sell all sponsorship inventory for FAMU athletics, including venue signage, program advertising, digital and web content, game sponsorships and special events, along with several other opportunities.

“When you think of HBCUs, Florida A&M is plain and simply at the top!” said Ryan Holloway, President Peak Sports MGMT. “It means a lot to us to partner with the Rattlers and the pride, passion and pageantry they bring to college athletics.”

Holloway added, “As the leader of Peak Sports, I must practice what I preach. I feel it is important to embrace and celebrate diversity and this partnership will demonstrate that change is more than just a hashtag to Peak Sports.  We can’t wait to get to work with Kortne Gosha and his incredible staff!”

The agreement between FAMU and Peak Sports, which is for five years, provides FAMU athletics with a significant financial guarantee each year and a revenue sharing amount distributed once the thresholds are met.

“Partnering with a brand like the Rattlers is exciting and humbling,” said Wesley Abercrombie, Sales Director for Peak Sports. “As a minority myself, it brings me great pride to add another HBCU to our family of schools. I grew up knowing and following the Rattlers. To be able to work with their staff and new administration is incredible.”

Peak Sports is actively searching for a general manager and account executive. The general manager, along with an account executive will serve as full-time staff members of FAMU who will fully integrate themselves with the university, athletic department, the Tallahassee community and beyond.
