FAMU puts five players on All-MEAM team

Coach Alex Wood will begin his second season with the Rattlers. They were picked to finish eights in the MEAC.

NORFOLK, Va. FAMU had five players named to the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Star football team, which was announced this past Friday during its annual football media luncheon here at the Waterside Marriott Hotel.

Senior defensive end Curtis Alexander from nearby Quincy, and senior safety Jacques Bryant of Tallahassee, were first team selections.

Senior center Keonte Cash of Miami and senior receiver Montavious Williams of Tallahassee were second team picks, while senior punter Colby Blanton of Jacksonville was  third team selectee.

Defending Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl champion North Carolina A&T was picked to win the league in the annual preseason conference poll. Bethune-Cookman was picked second and North Carolina Central was selected third.

The Rattlers were picked to finish eighth in this year’s race.

On Wednesday the Rattlers will begin reporting for the start of  training camp.
