Special to the Outlook

Bond Community Health Center celebrated the opening of the dental clinic at Sabal Palm Elementary School, A Community Partnership School. The ceremony for the dental clinic, “The Smile Connection at Sabal Palm,” was held on Friday.

“A core component of the Community Partnership Schools model is to provide students with access to health care, including dental care, at no cost, right on site at the school,” said Dr. Temple Robinson, CEO at Bond Community Health Center. “Untreated tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children and adolescents, and access to services allows students to overcome challenges that could stand in the way of learning.

“The dental clinic provides support for students to focus, learn healthy habits and remain attentive to their studies. As a federally qualified health center and in keeping with the spirit of the community partnership, Bond will be extending dental services to the residents of the Sabal Palm community in the upcoming months.”

Sabal Palm Elementary brings together high-quality academics, health care, counseling, support, mentoring and more—all where students and their families are comfortable in their own school.

Sabal Palm Elementary, is a partnership among Children’s Home Society of Florida, Florida A&M University, FSU Primary Health and Leon County School District.
