Bond Community Health Center, Inc. celebrates 35-year mission anniversary
Dr. Temple Robinson
Thirty-five years ago, a group of concerned community members met to address the health care needs of children, families and individuals in the Bond Community. With the support of local volunteers, advocates and partners, Bond Community Health Center was established with the mission to provide quality healthcare for all people in our community regardless of one’s ability to pay.
Over the years, Bond has successfully answered its mission to provide access to quality healthcare for all people in our community. It is through the support of our friends and neighbors that we have been so successful and driven to continue growing and improving our quality of care. To honor that support, we have launched the 35-Year Mission—a series of events geared towards celebrating our founding while raising money to continue our high-quality service provision for the next 35 years.
Earlier this year, The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) awarded Bond full accreditation, which signifies that Bond has demonstrated substantial compliance with AAAHC standards and continuously improves its care and services. We also received $293,780 to expand oral health services through an infrastructure grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Public recognition and funding of this type makes it possible for us to constantly improve and expand our services to the Tallahassee community and all our neighbors who need them the most.
All year, we have been talking with patients, doctors, administrators, and former staff about the role of Bond in their lives and in the lives of their families. To no surprise, the response has been resoundingly positive. The response has renewed in us the call to serve everyone that walks through our doors. But we can’t do it alone. We need Tallahassee to step up and stand in the gap with us to ensure that no one will go without quality health care – regardless of their situation.
If you wish to be a part of this mission- it is not too late. On Nov. 1 at 7 p.m., we will host our 35-Year Mission Celebration at Mission San Luis. This is an event to honor the Bond Heroes who paved the way 35 years ago. More than that, it is a time to continue what they started by giving back. When supporting Bond, you are helping a child smile with confidence, allowing a mother to live longer with her children, and making sure no father goes without his medication.
Be a part of the mission and join us as we party with a purpose. For more information, visit bond35mission.com.
