Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, Walmart announce micro-grant program
Leaders of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce BBMC) and Walmart recently announced a partnership to award micro-grants to local women and minority- owned businesses across the Big Bend Region. The COVID-19 Business Recovery Assistance Grants (CBRAG) are intended as a support mechanism to help small businesses sustain operations during the difficult economic times of Covid-19.
“Right now, in the five counties we serve, small businesses are hurting. This is a positive step we can take to make sure that our minority and women-owned businesses have the support they need to survive these difficult times,” said Sean Pittman, founder and chairman of the BBMC. “The BBMC was founded to stand in the gap for our business community and give a fighting chance to those small businesses that need it the most – and this program is just another way of fulfilling that mission.”
The application process is open on the BBMC’s website and will be available through July 10, 2020. All women and minority-owned businesses in the five-county Big Bend Region are encouraged to apply.
