Bethel Missionary Baptist Church turns 145 and celebrates Pastor R.B. Holmes’ 29th Anniversary

The members of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, along with community leaders, family and friends, joyfully celebrated Bethel’s 145th church anniversary and the Reverend . R. B. Holmes 29th Pastorals anniversary. “This was not just a celebration of the past, but also a joyful leap into the future,” said Deaconess Patricia Smith, one of the co-chairs of the anniversary held Nov. 8, in Tallahassee, Fla.
The scriptural foundation for the 145th anniversary was thematically rooted in 1 Samuel 17:29 – Is There Not A Cause? Building A Better Body of Christ! The day’s activities included:
o7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services
oVeterans Day Recognition during 11 a.m. worship service
o5 p.m. Appreciation Service and Reception honoring Dr. Cassandra Poole and Brother Anthony Poole, leaders of Bethel’s Music Ministry
The Reverend Dr. Clinton W. Austin, pastor of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church from Washington, D.C. delivered the message at the 7:30 a.m. service and the Reverend Dr. Frank McDonald, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church from Crawfordville, Fla., delivered the message at the 11 a.m. service. Additionally, Bethel’s Veterans Ministry honored and recognized active military/veterans groups during the 11 a.m. service. The anniversary celebration culminated with a special appreciation and reception honoring Bethel’s Music Ministry Leaders, Dr. Cassandra Poole and Brother Anthony Poole.
