Holmes Names Murraine Marketing, Sports Director
Special to the Outlook
Staff Report
Rev. R.B. Holmes, President of Live Communications Inc., announced a new hire intended to help the company’s newspaper and radio station grow in Tallahassee and surrounding areas.
St. Clair Murraine, a longtime Tallahassee sportswriter with a sales background, has joined the company as its marketing and sports director.
Murraine will write for the Capital Outlook newspaper and host a live sports talk show on Live Communication’s WTAL (1450 AM). He also will direct the marketing team for both radio and newspaper.
Murraine started his new role on Monday, May 4.
“We are fortunate to have Mr. Murraine join the staff,” Holmes said. “He is a well-respected journalist and has a great reputation as one of the best sports reporters in the area. We expect great results from his writing and reporting skills.”
Murraine joins Live Communications Inc., after 26 years with the Tallahassee Democrat. Before that, he was sports editor of the Virgin Islands Daily News for 13 years. While there, he served a brief stint in an exchange program with the Herald Dispatch in Huntington, W.V., and also made a brief stop at USA Today.
Most of his sales background comes from several years of operating his own travel agency and an international exporting company.
“I am thrilled to have this opportunity, especially on the marking side, because of the opportunity it gives me to establish new relationships with the public,” Murraine said. “Driven by Rev. Holmes’ vision and determination to make his media group one that is trusted for local news and information, I am looking forward to this new challenge.”
Holmes said that Murraine’s personality and the public’s trust makes him a good candidate for the job.
“Mr. Murraine will lead our marketing team and we will experience significant improvements to extend and expand our services to the Big Bend communities,” Holmes said.
