Rattlers picked to finish fifth in MEAC

NORFOLK, Va. (July 27) – While FAMU was picked to finish fifth this season, 10 Rattlers were named to the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason All-Star team announced during the league’s Football Media Day this past Friday. Seven Rattlers earned second team honors, including senior RB Devin Bowers, junior OL Loubens Polinice, senior DE Antonio Miller, senior LB Jibreel Hazly, junior DB Terry Jefferson and senior DB Orlando McKinley, plus sophomore Punter Chris Faddoul. Rounding out the FAMU 10 were a trio of third team selections: junior QB Ryan Stanley, junior OL Obinna Nwankwo and senior OL Khalil Harris. The Rattlers open the 2018 regular season Sept. 1 at home against Fort Valley State in the Jake Gaither Classic. They placed behind predicted first-place finisher and defending champion North Carolina A&T. The Aggies received 19 of a possible 20 first place votes. Howard University was picked to finish second, ahead of North Carolina Central and Bethune-Cookman. Trailing FAMU in the pool was Norfolk State, South Carolina State, Savannah State, Morgan State and Delaware State.
