Special to the Outlook
Nicole Everett is a Miami native and a graduate of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, with undergraduate degrees in both Business Administration and Business Economics. For 20 years of her professional life, she has been focused on affordable housing policies and programs. As Assistant Director of the Tallahassee Lenders Consortium, she was devoted to helping low and moderate income residents qualify for affordable home ownership through budget and credit counseling, new home buyer workshops, and work with financial agencies for down payment assistance. She is currently a Special Program Manager at the Florida Housing Finance Corporation where she oversees the Florida Foreclosure Counseling Program for potential and current homeowners statewide.
She has devoted countless hours to volunteer work with organizations that include Big Bend Habitat for Humanity, the Providence Neighborhood Association Redevelopment Corporation, and the City of Tallahassee Code Enforcement Board. She is also working to create a major philanthropy dedicated to funding the arts, housing, and children’s initiatives. For now, however, she has invested heart and soul in a project for which she is very passionate and allows her to bring attention to important quality of life issues.
On March 2, 2016, she launched a weekly video blog called “Conversations with Nicole”, produced by Gerald Tookes, at Nefetari’s Fine Cuisine and Spirits in Tallahassee’s Southside.
