Centennial gala celebration set for Dr. Anne Gayles-Felton

Organizers of a centennial birthday celebration for Dr. Anne Gayles-Felton are inviting the public to attend the event on
June 4 at the Grand Ballroom on FAMU’s campus.
The formal event begins at 4 p.m., with the unveiling of a mural in Gayles-Felton’s honor at 5 p.m.
Many of Gayles-Felton’s colleagues and students have been inspired by her work and achievements. Her professional career concentration was secondary education, undergraduate, and graduate studies. She is well known nationally for her commitment and contributions to education.
Additionally, she is an internationally renowned, highly sought-after writer and researcher.
Gayles-Felton co-authors the book “The History of the School of Education 1887-2000”. There is a rich history and legacy of the College of Education that will be preserved through Gayles-Felton’s endowed scholarship Fund.
Gayles-Felton created a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance for undergraduate students pursuing a degree in secondary education. Having served students for 50 years at FAMU’s College of Education, she knows how financial challenges have affected many of the students that she encountered during her teaching career.
