Lincoln grad Stephan Pierre wins SIAC Player of the Year

Albany State University redshirt sophomore linebacker Stephan Pierre had a stellar year and was rewarded with the honor of being the first team All-SIAC, SIAC Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named SIAC Player of the Year.
These all came as he helped the Golden Rams defense to dominate the conference, going undefeated in league play and winning the SIAC Championship with a shutout victory.
Pierre, who won three consecutive Defensive Player of the Week honors, anchored one of the top defenses in the country. The team ranked No.1 in several NCAA D-II statistics.
He led the team with 82 tackles (8.2/game), with 56 solos and 26 assists. He had six tackles-for-loss, one sack and one forced fumble.
After winning the SIAC Championship and being ranked No.3 in the NCAA Super Regionals, the Gold Rams will host the first round playoff game against West Georgia on Saturday at the Albany State Coliseum.
