Williams moves to new role; DeRieux named Athletic Compliance Coordinator

Florida A&M University’s new VP/Director of Athletics, Kortne Gosha, announced that Angelia Williams has transitioned to Special Assistant to the AD/Executive Director of the Rattler Boosters and welcomed the addition of Chandler DeRieux as Athletic Compliance Coordinator for FAMU Athletics.

“We are excited to Welcome Angie as the Executive Director of the Rattler Boosters,” Gosha said. “We firmly believe that her wealth of experience at the university and in the community will enhance coordination with the National Alumni Association, Boosters, and the external efforts of the department of athletics. In consultation with Booster President Selvin Cobb, we feel that Angie will elevate the Boosters to new levels.”

Williams, a native of Dallas, Texas, became the Special Projects & Corporate Sponsorships Coordinator in January 2020 before being elevated to Special Assistant to the AD/Executive Director of the Rattler Boosters.

In her role, Williams will assist the Director of Athletics in any day-to-day activities. In addition, she will continue to build relationships with corporate sponsorships and work as a liaison with the Rattler Boosters.

DeRieux, a native of Trussville, Ala., brings with him a passion for intercollegiate athletics and a wealth of experience gained during his time interning at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) and at Huntingdon College. 

Chandler DeRieux

Prior to his tenure at UAB, DeRieux earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Huntingdon College in 2018, where he was also a four-time letterman as a baseball student-athlete. While at Huntingdon, DeRieux was a two-time all-conference academic selection and helped the team capture the 2016 conference title. DeRieux also earned a master’s degree in Sport Management from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2020. 

In his new role DeRieux will serve as the primary contact for ARMS, NLI database management and will serve as the day to day contact for baseball, softball, tennis, golf and bowling. Chandler is a member of the National Association of Athletic Compliance (NAAC).
